When was the last time you had a conversation that mattered?

Not a quick catch-up. Not obligatory small talk. Not scrolling side by side.

But a real conversation where you said something true, heard something surprising, and left feeling more connected to another human being.

We want to have more of those conversations and we think you probably do too.

ABOUT THE SPACE

The Space is a one hour guided conversation for people who want to practice something we're all a little rusty at: actually talking to each other.

We give you the questions. We give you the setting. We give you a facilitator who holds the room. You bring yourself.

Each session is built around the themes of New City Players' current production: truth, division, faith, belonging, what we owe each other, and what holds us together when we’re pushed apart. You don't need to have seen the current play to walk in. The questions work on their own. But if you have seen it? They'll hit deeper.

We know that for some, this sounds a little scary… but we also know that you can be brave.

HOW IT WORKS

Arrive at Union Kitchen & Bar in Wilton Manors on Sunday, August 16 at 5pm. Have a drink and say hello. You’ll be paired with one other person — a friend you came with, or a stranger you're about to meet — and for the next hour, the conversation is yours. From 5:30-6:30pm, a facilitator guides you through questions that get progressively deeper.

You don't have to perform or debate anything. Just show up: two people, a room, and something worth saying.

Dinner at Union Kitchen & Bar follows for those who want it.

Capacity is limited to 24 people. It's small on purpose.

WHY WE CHARGE FOR THIS

Conversation is free. So is walking. So is cooking. And yet we pay for yoga classes, meal kits, and guided hikes because sometimes the structure, the setting, and someone holding space for us is exactly what makes the thing actually happen.

We all want to have more meaningful conversations. We've all left the party wishing we'd gotten past the surface. The Space is designed for that. The questions, the facilitator, and the room are what get you there.
